It doesn't take a long cold snap. One night in the teens with water in the lines is enough to split PEX, crack a pump housing, and burst fittings behind your walls. You won't find out in November. You'll find out in April when you turn the pump on and water pours into the cabinets.

What's included
We drain the fresh tank and the water heater, pull or bypass the heater, open the low point drains, blow out the lines, and run RV antifreeze through every fixture - hot and cold, kitchen, bath, shower, outside shower, and toilet. Traps get protected, holding tanks get drained and treated, and the city water inlet and pump get cleared.
While we're in there we check the furnace, look over seals and roof sealant, and check battery condition and storage, because those are the other three things that ruin a spring.
We come to your driveway, storage lot, or campsite. If you'd rather drop it off, bring it to the shop in Roscoe.

- When should I winterize in South Dakota?
- Before the first hard freeze - typically October. If you're not using the camper, earlier is better than later.
- Can I just blow out the lines?
- Blowing out helps, but air alone leaves water in low spots and traps. We blow out and use antifreeze so nothing is left to freeze.
- Do you come to my storage lot?
- Yes. Driveways, storage lots, and campsites are most of our winterizing work.
- Can you de-winterize in the spring?
- Yes, and we'll pressure test the system while we're at it to catch anything that moved over winter.
- How long does it take?
- A typical camper takes about an hour, longer if we're servicing the water heater or furnace at the same visit.
